Flanders Cup, Brasschaat, Belgium, 11th July: Freya Murray was pushed to a new PB in the 5000m by a Japanese athlete who won the international race as Freya finished 2nd. Her time of 15:31.17 was under the commonwealth standard set by Scottish Athletics.
English Schools, 10th July, Gateshead: Mia Hodgson represented Durham schools and finished 7th in the final of the junior girls 75m hurdles. Her time of 11.63 in the final followed an 11.66 and 2nd place in her heat – both equalling her hand-timed PB of 11.6 set at the Durham Schools in June, the race she won to qualify for the ESSA championships.
BMC Solihull, 10th July: Emma Raven took almost 4 seconds from her PB (which was recorded at the same meeting last year) whilst winning the 1500m B race in 4.22.65.
Sunshine Run, 7th July, Newcastle: Angela Hunter finished an excellent 2nd overall and 1st female over the 5km race along the Quayside. Her time was 19.06.
