The top performing female athletes, winning their events, were U11 Ellie Hayden in the shot putt with a throw of 4.33m and U13 Jane Feenan who cleared 1.23m in the high jump.
The boys winners included U11 athletes Nathan Fawcett who ran 2:47 in the 800m and Tom Cowperthwaite who jumped 1.05m in the high jump whilst U13 Ross Trotter won the long jump with 4.05m. In the U15 age-group, talented Nathan Purvis won three events including the 100m (13.4), the shot putt (8.32m) and the long jump (5.13m); Steven Ketley won the 200 and 400ms with 26.8 and 58.9 seconds and Sam Turnbull threw a winning 29.26m in the javelin. The sole U17 winner was David Harris who won the 1500m in 5:08 whilst in the U20’s Scott Markwell won four events including the 100m (12.5), 200m (24.0), long jump (5.69m) and the shot putt (7.70m).
Alongside these winners, there were notable performances by Rob Peverley (U13) who was 2nd and 3rd in 1500 and shot respectively and three under U11 athletes: Rebecca Wood (2nd in the 800), Olivia Nelson (2nd in the high jump) and Emily Carless (2nd in the long jump).
