In the Senior Women's race, Claire Simpson and Angela Hunter had excellent runs to finish with the 2nd and 3rd fastest times of the day with actual times of 24:26 and 24:41 respectively. Along with Jane Mooney from Morpeth who ran 24:02, they set off with a 3 minute handicap and overtook most of the slow pack runners to finish overall 3rd and 6th. Anna Fawcett also defied a handicap in the U13 girls race to finish 3rd overall and 2nd fastest to Birtley rival Lydia Turner. Sarah Muarray also tested herself out in the U13 girls race finishing in 26th position.
Three senior men competed. Phil Coulson set off last in the fast pack but finished first ClS man in 64th overall with an actual time of 33:16. Nigel Brown finished 168th after starting with the medium pack (actual time of 38:25) whilst veteran athlete Kennie Pyle finished in 271st position with a time of 47:04.
At this stage the Junior Boys results are unavailable but from the results in the Chronicle, the top performances came in the U13 boys were ClS took the team award with Joe Armstrong finishing 2nd and Daniel Pickering 5th (there is no indication about which pack the boys started from).
