English National Cross-Country Relays, Mansfield, 31st October: Juniors and Mens

Alongside the women’s team (mentioned below), Chester-le-Street had athletes competing in the Junior races and the Men’s race. In the U13’s, the girls team of Anna Fawcett, Hannah Martin and Niamh Nelson, finished a creditable 31st with Anna’s time of 7:49, just outside of the top 10 fastest. Without a third runner Thomas Goulding and Daniel Pickering both gained valuable experience in the U13 boys as did the two U15 girls Katy Blackett and Tara Emes. Craig Roberts, Chris Peverley and Andrew Sill made it into the top 50 teams finishing 49th. Craig was the fastest in their team but was closely followed in time by Chris. Finally, the senior men’s quartet of David Old, James Raven, Richard Ellis and Andrew Coffer showed good team spirit finishing in 92nd with James running the team’s fastest leg.
