Chester le Street Ladies added to thier growing medal tally with a superb performance to claim the silver medals behind a superb Aldershot and Farnham quartet.
Such was the power of the Chester team that they finished 60 seconds quicker than their winning team of 2003.
Leg one saw new British international Aly Dixon finish in a more than handy 6th place, this was consolidated on leg two by the in form Mel Turner. Mel handed over to the long striding Emma Raven, who moved the team into bronze medal spot, leaving Freya Murray to secure 2nd place, with the days 2nd fastest time.
Not to be outdone the B team of Kathryn Foley, Max Czarnecka, Angela Hibbs and Tracy Laws raced to their own slice of glory finishing in 12th place, as top B team and 2nd Northern team home - no mean performance at this level of competition.
