Saturday 26th September
With another display of power and versatility Chester Ladies retained the 4 stage relay crown that they have now proudly held for the last 4 years. Indeed such is the quality of the squad that no athlete has appeared in all of the 4 wins. On this occasion the honours fell to Melissa Turner, Sarah Wilkinson, Aly Dixon and Maxine Czarnecka.
Leg one saw Mel produce a really superb performance of 16 mins 34 secs (despite running 50 metres off course as she approached the stadium on the second circuit) to finish in second place with the days third fastest time behind Susan Partridge of Leeds who's 16 mins 53 secs was the fastest of the day,
Sarah also turned in a superb run recording the days 5th fastest time of 16 mins 48 secs to hand over to Aly who quickly wiped out the 20 odd second deficit with the days second fastest time of 16 mins 31 secs to give Maxine the easy task of bringing the title home to the Riverside by a margin of 2 mins 30 seconds
The Chester B team of Claire Simpson, Angela Hunter, Tracy Laws and teenager Dyllan Pickavance-Clarke also turned in a great performance to finish in 6th place and 2nd North East team.
