Chester's great 8 day week

Chester le street ladies produced a series of superb runs commencing on the 31st August with Freya Murray's new 3000 metre pb and club record of of 9 mins -8.97 secs in the Gateshead Grand Prix.
This was followed on the 2nd of September by Maxine Czarneckas win in the New Marske coastal 5k in a seasons best of 17 mins-27 secs.
On the same night the Watergate 5k at lobley Hill saw Sarah Wilkinson continued her march to full fitness with a very good win in 17 mins-29 secs, Tracy Laws in second place recorded a great new pb of 17 mins-43 secs
The action switched to Blackpool on the 5th where Emma Raven recorded a fine win in the illuminations 10k coming home in 36 mins-46 secs despite contending with gales and waves on a storm lashed sea front.
Sunday the 6th got even better, Angela Hibbs won the Middlesbrough Pride 10k in a new pb of 35 mins -54 secs, Melissa Turner representing the north of England finished 3rd in the Cardiff 10k in a new pb of 35 mins-44 secs.
Freya Murray continued her stunning form with a brilliant road pb and new club record of 32 mins 26 secs when she stormed to victory in the Sheffield 10k
Aly Dixon rounded of the 7th day with a great new half marathon pb and new club record of 73 mins and 40sec when she finished 5th at Bristol, this time was within the world qualifying requirements but her finishing spot did not guarantee automatic selection - the wait began.

MONDAY THE 7TH, THE 8TH DAY
THIS WAS ONE OF TOTAL JOY FOR ALY, HER COACH LINDSAY DUNN AND ALL HER CHESTER TEAM MATES WHEN NEWS CAME THROUGH THAT THE PETITE CHESTER STAR HAD GAINED SELECTION FOR THE WORLD HALF MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIPS - ALYSON DIXON BRITISH INTERNATIONAL.
