Aly Dixon gained her second consecutive victory in this very popular road race, Although her winning time of 34 mins 28 sec was way short of last years course record, this win was every bit as good as she had to deal with the presence of European Junior 3k silver medallist Kate Avery, who despite running a 10k debut time of 34 mins 40s could not handle the persistent pressure applied by the Chester Star who is preparing for the world 1/2 marathon trial.
