This was a fascinating race as it saw the seasons track début of Benita Willis. The Australian star was firm favourite and did not disappoint storming home in 16:26, but behind her Emma Raven ran a supurb race to take her second championship silver recording a new pb of 17:09, just reward for leading the race out from the gun taking herself & Benita over 100m clear of the other competitors in the first mile.
British Master's 5km Road Champs - Horwich - 21st June
Sarah Wilkinson, having only her 3rd competitive outing made a valiant attempt to lift the Master's crown, but had to settle for Bronze medal position.
The performance of the weekend, however, went to Chester coach, Lindsay Dunn, who upon realising that he had left his wallet in the Pitreive club house snack bar, recorded a 200m sprint that observers said came very close to the Scottish Championship record!!
