Once again Freya Murray rewrote the club 5k track record with a scintillating performance of 15 mins 32.39 seconds. Running in a field that included Olympic 5k and 10k champion Tirunesh Dibaba, Freya confirmed her status as a worthy UKA champion. Such was the commitment of the Chester Star that she passed 3k in an unofficial pb time of 9 mins 15 sec ,which makes us wonder how long Diane Heneghan's 3k club record will last. This performance gives Freya a well deserved Commonwealth qualifying time.
