The championships saw the clubs young athletes the chance to shine and they did not disappoint
Jeremy Anderson Da Costa competing in the under 13 boys category. Jeremy put in two stunning performances winning the 100 metres in 14.97 secs then completed a fine double winning the long jump with 4.26 metres. Daniel Pickering this young athlete picked up a full set of championship medals in the under 13 boys winning gold in the 200 metres in 29.91 secs, he then placed 3rd in the long jump with 3.79 metres. His set of medals was completed in the 1500 metres where he finished 2nd in 4 mins 55 secs.
Sophie Hindaugh collected a fine pair of silver medals in the under 13 girls taking 2nd in a very closely fought 70 metre hurdles in 12.41 secs then repeating the performance with 8.24 metres in the long jump.
Anna Fawcett the North East cross country champion put in a fine performance to claim silver in the under 13 girls 1500 metres, but her powerful finishing run left her marginally short of the gold finishing in 5 mins 9.6 secs behind winner L turners 5 mins 9.3 secs.
Joey Williams ran very well to claim bronze in the under 15 boys 200 metres finishing in a personal best of 25.66 secs
Catlin Smith didn't manage a medal in the under 17 girls 100 metres but the young Chester athlete finished 5th in a personal best of 15.35 secs a fine performance.
Owen McCardle who is one of the most dedicated sprint athletes in Chester ran two very good races finishing 6th in the under 20 mens 400 metres in 53.91 sec and 5th in the 200 metres in 24.17 secs.
